Cristiano Toraldo di Francia founded Superstudio in Florence in 1966: the experience will come to mark recent history’s poetics, aesthetics and conceptualisations of architecture and design with works, objects and products that have been the protagonists of some of the most important collections in the world - MoMA, MET, Pompidou Center, Frac and MAXXI. He has taught at many international universities - Cal State, Kent State, Rhode Island, UIA - and has given lectures at the AA, Bartlett, Berlage, Ensa Bretagne, La Villette, Nihon and Syracuse.
In 1992 he was invited as teacher by Eduardo Vittoria at the new School of Architecture and Design of the University of Camerino in its Ascoli Piceno branch, where he taught until 2019. He is the director and owner of the photographic and digital archive of Superstudio. For the 50th anniversary of the group’s foundation held in 2016, PAC organized “Supersuperstudio” and MAXXI hosted a large “Superstudio 50” retrospective accompanied by a volume published by Quodlibet. The Exhibition moved to the Power Station of Art in Shanghai in 2017 and then to the FRAC Centre in Orleans in 2019. More information at www.cristianotoraldodifrancia.it
