It is the infinite story of thread becoming texture, new material, technological fabric for facades, covers, accessories, screens, gadgets. Alberto Fiorenzi’s intuition is the story of a material which has been borrowed from the performance world, reconverted, rendered pure, absolute, naked against form and creation, able to reconnect the threads of the semantic future with the history and experience of Superstudio and Cristiano Toraldo di Francia.

“Cristiano inferred and recognised the target together with the actuality of the project, the same that he had theorised as far back as Superstudio when he hypothesised infinite surfaces placed equally on the ground and in the sky - explains Alberto Fiorenzi. Visual and conceptual affinity, as i-Mesh unites people and cultures just like the neural networks that supply the earth and put the planet in communication. Thus the Superstudio Histogram has evolved into the world of i-Mesh, in a theme which is at times decorative and always technological, testifying the cultural heritage of peoples and the permanence of millennial traditions which are renewed."

After years of experiences and incursions among the limes of the arts, the Tapestry Collection by Alberto Fiorenzi will be presented at Design Week 2018 and has embarked on a dialogue with a special and coherent location - the fascinating post-industrial space of the historic Cova confectionery industry in the NoLO area of north Milan, emerging and trendy - as well as conceptual proximity with the Alcova experience - art direction by Joseph Grima, curated by Space Caviar and Studio Vedèt: a sophisticated, workshop-esque and international Fuori Salone. An area of passage, as transient as i-Mesh in its many and constantly questioning metamorphoses, with the tapestries displayed in the immense spaces invaded by disordered and interrogating vegetation - a weave in its own right - in an indecipherable open/closed context between experimental design projects, galleries, institutions and avant-garde companies, all engaged in the search for meaning and function in relation to the themes of living and contemporary homes.
